“If you don’t stick to your values when they are being tested, they’re not values, they’re hobbies.” - Job Stewart

People with strong Belief talents have enduring principles by which they live.

I am a very values driven person. I believe that actions speak louder than words and therefore our actions, in all circumstances, must speak our values. These values are not negotiable and dictate how I live my life and the choices I make. I might come across as religious but it's more for me about my truth as to how I should live my life. I want to be trusted for these values. Of huge importance to me is my family; being able to support and look after them is a principle and responsibility that is key in my life.

MY unique TALENT

MY SUPerpower

Ethical and Moral

MY instinctive Ability

Belief is the natural ability to bring a values driven approach to all you do. You have a deep sense of right and wrong, that is not negotiable in your mind and which must be acted upon at all times.

The drive I naturally bring

Your strong Belief talents are a wellspring of powerful drive and direction. You provide clarity, conviction, and stable values.

What can I naturally create?

You create an enduring stability for those around you in a way that ensures, that on your watch, the right thing will be always be done, unquestionably. You raise the ethical standards of those around you.

MANAGING MY EXPECTATIONS

I like...

Living out my values in all I do - these are non-negotiable to me;

living a life that is worthy;

being able to invest time in my family;

being trusted to do the right thing every time.

I connect easily to people who...

are steadfast, values driven people who do the right thing, all the time.

I am NOT known for...

contradicting my beliefs;

not living out what I believe in;

backing away from doing the right thing.

I get frustrated or distressed when...

I have to deal with people who have no values or even worse, have 'flexible' values;

having to work in environments that contradict my values.

I can be perceived by some people as...

Being dogmatic and absolute in my beliefs.

how best to work with me:

Be principled in everything you do.

Be respectful and polite towards me.

Be humble.

BEING MORE EFFECTIVE

know this:

You have core values that are unchanging. You may conflict with people who oppose or don’t value your beliefs.

You have deeply held ideas about what is, what should be, and the purpose of your life. You naturally become enthusiastic and energetic about tasks, roles, or positions that promote your deeply held beliefs.

Some people may think you are rigid or contrary because of your strongly held beliefs.

When you live your life according to your deepest values and beliefs, you experience motivation, drive, and determination.

try this:

Your values keep you on course during the toughest times.

Keep reminders of your personal mission around you. When the going gets tough, these reminders will help you focus on your reason for being there and the valuable contribution you naturally make.

Remind yourself to keep an appropriate balance between your work and your personal life. Both areas will benefit when you dedicate enough time and attention to each.

Don't be afraid to give voice to your values. This will help others know who you are and how they can relate to you.

Actively seek projects and roles that fit your values. In particular, think about joining organizations that define their purpose by the contribution they make to the community.

Express your values outside of the workplace by volunteering for a hospital board, school board, or community organization.

Facing your personal challenge:

Your values are moulded in your formative years. They appear real and unchangeable for you, but you have to be careful that you have not merely adopted the values of someone else. Find your own truth.

Watch out for: Doing something simply because you were taught that it was the right thing to do.
