The Domain of Intelligence : We would literally be lost and confused without these guys!
The more themes that you have in your Top 10 within this domain, the more dominant these behaviours will be.
People with dominant themes in this domain simply love being able to apply their minds to the process of thinking. Thinking involves the acquisition and processing of knowledge in order to create useful insight.
Thinkers enjoy activities like reading, having discussions and debating thoughts. All of these activities serve to inform the individual on their road to the great 'aha'. Insight is obtained through seeing connections, over time using a process called 'thinking'. How long the process takes no-one really knows....It happens when it happens. But having said that, some themes build these connections very, very quickly (in a split second) while others build connections over relatively longer periods of time (even hours). The quicker the connections are built, the less detail is taken into consideration.
Here is a list of the Signature themes from fastest to slowest as well as how people with these themes go about it:
Futuristic - can in an instant imagine an alternative reality in detail
Ideation - can very rapidly see connections between (apparently) disparate pieces of information
Strategic - can rapidly anticipate obstacles and then create an alternative route
Input - can memorise information in a very short space of time and then determine how that information should best be organised
Learner - can work things out for themselves over time and in so doing acquire new skills
Context - contemplates historical data carefully to see trends
Analytical - insists on taking as long as is needed to verify the accuracy of a set of data
Intellection - never finished mapping the universe and looking at everything from as many different perspectives as possible
What is important to understand about these decision makers is that while they are trying to find the pattern...nothing else can happen. They are literally 'offline' until the proverbial 'aha' moment when they rapidly come back online. This is immediately followed by an extreme desire to present their insight to the world in the the interests of growing everyone's intelligence.
Being trusted for their insights is therefore very, very important to them. In fact they genuinely dislike it when their insights are not appreciated. They have a term for people who do not trust their insights.....'stupid people'.. A fun piece of data about these themes, is that each theme is convinced that its way is the only type of thinking that is required....
Ironically, decision makers reserve the right to change their decisions as long as they feel that it has been of their own evolution. Being forced to change their minds is very seldom something they are comfortable with.
Strategic thinking themes give the world the gift of insight which ultimately leads to better ways of doing things.
